Do I need any special cables/connectors? I wish to fire a remote camera either using the PW as a stand alone or from a another body so that both cameras fire simultaneously.

Yep, go to the flashzebra site and look for there remote release for PW's. i have one and it works great. i can either fire it with the attached PW, a remote PW or another camera.
Its about £20 shipped.

Thanks Mart, just what I'm after although it's a shame they are Stateside.
 
Not a problem with them being stateside, got mine in 4 days from Lon at flashzebra. service was excelent.
 
If you can get the plugs you could make the thing, theres nothing fancy about them.
