pop up background

Can anyone offer advice on where I would purchase as per title, nothing too expensive as its only for family portraits though I would like it to be decent enough to look good lol

The easiest backgrounds are paper ones mate, if you have two stands and 2x u-bend from the plumbing dept that is

Most come as 9ft rolls, but you can then cut them either in 2, or to any length you can fit in the car/typical room (use a fine saw when tightly wrapped)

You can also then use them, just the tube if the paper has run out, to hang your cloth backgrounds from too

Just a thought

Thanks a lot DiddyDave (your name made me chuckle lol) I only want to take a few pics of my grandchildren, the price of those collapsibles I would be better going to a studio lol

I'll not tell you my 15 middle names then :(

Own family shots are best done out at play, on a picnic, walk, local park, swings, even on the conservatory floor (if you/they can) - all of which is cheap too

Otherwise, tack a bedsheet to a wall

Thanks again, I have loads of natural pics of my grandchildren, and some professional ones too, I just thought it would be nice to try the professional look myself, I didn't realise the pop up backgrounds were so pricey, I have seen backgrounds (not popup) on ebay for £20 I think I'll purchase one of those and try and frame it myself, plastic plumming should be fine for an easy frame. Thanks again for the advice, and the chuckle :)

+1 for the bedsheet idea, all the studio I have ever used, apart from outside in the dark(which works surprisingly well).

personally I prefer location shots to full blown studio shots ie lights but no background but thats because I have never done any proper studio work :D
