I have one for my old D70 but it sits in the cupboard. I only bought it because it was in the bargain bucket for a couple of quid. Of course, on a DSLR of that vintage, it would only be of use when reviewing images (not something I tend to do beyond checking for blinkies) but on a compact it could be handy. I could be tempted by one for the XF, although the screen on that is bright enough to use even in Mediterranean sunshine.
 
Hi Nod not as nice here as in Crete so get your next visit sorted unless you already have ;)

Tis very rare to get 'full sun' days but I've found one or two. I guess I could fiddle around with the rotation of the LCD to get rid of the glare but it's just another 'faff' to 'faff' about with.

Should have bought something with a VF :lol:

Next Crete visit not for a while (well, 7 1/2 weeks...) :)

I've turned the screen brightness right up on the XF-1 to make it as visible as possible and that seems to be enough. Not perfect but at least it's useable.

We've got one coming but since her studio is probably about to grow into two, if you have one going begging, we could be persuaded to free up some space for you...

WRT the VF, I prefer an optical one as well but like to have easily visible exposure information etc in it. As you know, the X-10 has a reasonable optical VF but it has no info displayed. The X-20 does have a fair amount of info showing but it tends to get hidden by the picture and is also missing something that I (for one) need - the artificial horizon! If Fuji put the info on a black border and stuck the green line level in the VF, I would snap one up PDQ!
