Pop-ups in Firefox on Vista

Why do I keep getting pop up ads for mobile phones and casino gambling in firefox on my vista laptop but never on my xp computer which is also running firefox?

do you have pop ups set to allow?

tools -> options -> block pop up windows

no.. they are set to block, thats why i cant understand it.

Have you got any other blockers on the xp machine. I use the Adblock Plus extenstion for firefox which works great. Also have you added sites to your xp Hosts file and not to your vista machine.
