I'd welcome any advice on these. To be honest that were snapped quickly today whilst having a banan-a-que with my Reception kids at school (we're finding out about Australia - some world cup related thing). I didn't really have much time to think about camera settings and composition, and have had a rudimentary tweak in Gimp (upped contrast and saturation, applied a little sharpening)

They look OK to my extremely colour blind eyes. Any tips for next time will be received with great thanks (y)

Oh, and one for fun - the banan-a-cue (hot banana stuffed with chocolate buttons MMmmmmmm!)

the first one i would like to have seen all of the petals but the detail in the middle is nice,

Cheers, I do need to work on composition. I'll remember that for the next time. I was trying to capture the detail in the middle, and I guess I neglected the outer edges.

Would a tighter crop work?

the second one the strip of dirt distracts me alittle taking my eye of the important item in the picture.

Again, composition :bonk:

The strip is the concrete path between the vegetable beds in the school garden.

Thank you for the crits. Very helpful (y)
