I believe it has been loss-making for a long time, Tata say it is losing £1m a day! You can't really blame them for wanting to close it if that is true. Come to think of it, I woder why they bought it in the first place.......

Here's a talking point. Call this one "Golden Hour Light on Port Talbot Steel Works"

As photographers we can choose whether to portray a subject in the best possible or worst possible "light". Arguably it looks better here than it deserves to, bearing in mind the pollution it produces.

Every so often it seems to belch out a cloud of orangey-brown smoke. I hate to think what it contains.
