Possibly silly question.. but..

Has anyone bought anything for their camera from Singapore? Was it ok?

I am going there in a fortnight on my way to Australia, and will be there on the way out for 17 hours, so thought I would check out the camera/tech places and see what there is.. I am also going to buy my memory cards for Oz there...

Then on the way back a month later, we have 3 days there.. Just wondered if anyone else had bought anything whilst there.. What happens with guarantees etc if I buy from a reputable store?
I was thinking that any purchases I make on the way out, can be returned/exchanged on the way back if they are faulty or whatever..

Any advice/suggestions received gratefully!
