Ok so just starting to get the hang of this D700 and I thought I'd venture onto a second lens (Brave or what!

So having loved shooting with the Canon 100mm macro as a portrait lens I thought I's have a play with the Nikon 105mm macro. Good fun!
It's a little slow to focus compared with the other zooms but that's quite typical of a macro looking over a long range (for it) so I don't have any concerns over that at all. Just as expected really. But boy is it fun and rather sharp too! Just did my normal sharpening action on this one and it's just a bit of fun.
But on a more serious note, I will have to review my sharpening techniques because even after only a day with them i can see there is a difference in the files off the D700s compared to the Canons and what was optimal before may not be the best treatment for the files going forward. So a bit of homework required on that today
