Hi Guys

Need to get my LRPS panel of 10 printed and mounted in the next week or so. Rather than print out myself I want to get them proffesionally done, Any reccomendations for local (Dorset) or online commercial printers? There is a local printer been reccomended to us, but he's charges 25pounds for a 10x8 which i think is a touch high

Its going to be 10 shots, mix of portrait and landscape, ive left them all at the original 2:3 ratio so probably going to get them done at 10x8, with a small white border so they can be mounted. Mounting wise just going for white card

any suggestions appreciated!

thanks
Chris

That is a damned high price, any reason why you don't want to print your own? You lose an element of control when you let someone else print out. I got some fotospeed paper, printed a test sheet and then sent it away for a free printer profile. The standard expected for the lrps is high, so you really want the best the best possible print. I'd personally go for window mounts rather than surface mounts, it's certainly what was recommended to me for my arps panel recently.

Have you worked out how your going to display your panel ?

You really need to print them out and look at them and choose which one goes first etc.

This is very hard on a computer screen and really needs to be done with the photo`s in hand.
You may find (as i did ) that when you get them printed that one of them stands out to much or vise versa, and now you`ve spent £250.

It`s also very hard to see if you`ve over sharpened on a screen but stands out like a saw thumb on prints and is something the judges will jump all over.

Remember your not judged on ten individual prints but on a panel of ten prints.

prints.

yes, ive printed them all off at 9x7 and sat for ages arranging them into a panel im happy with, as you say they look much better printed, some of the ones i had discounted on screen were in when they were printed large!

thanks for the other suggestions, i'll give those companies a look

thanks
Chris
