I have a 50d and no matter what glass I use on the front or setting I use the 'noise' is dreadful,is it me or is there is known problem with this body?

Hi

If you have a quick search on here, you should find a 50D owners thread where I'm sure I've seen threads re settings to try - might help:thumbs:

Can you post any offending images with EXIF in tact??

I'm very happy with the noise performance on my 50D

I had a 50D the image quality was terrible ISO noise at low and hi iso is very visible, compared with other bodies i have had used this was the worst, to help improve the image i found i needed to over expose the image and noiseware needed to be applied to most images - But don't worry there will be lots of people along soon to tell you the IQ from a 50D is stunning and noise is virtually non-existent.

Dogfish magnet I notice you use the word 'had', I might well be in the same club as you before long.I upgraded ,there's a contradiction in words, from my beloved 30d to my 50d a move I wish now I had never made. Having tried a friends Nikon D90 for a week or so,It is in my opinion a far better machine.

I sent the camera on its way via fleabay and upgraded, i moved from a Nikon D300 (wanted a MP-e65mm:D) and i found i just wasn't taking as many pictures with the 50D or enjoying the buz of looking at a photo on the PC , after looking around at reviews and images posted here from the 7D i decided to go full frame and got a 5DMKII -

Simply stunning:D
