I wonder how many full-time professional photographers are secretly rubbing their hands in glee at all these price rises, knowing that it will probably shrink the amateur market!![]()
All you need to shoot a wedding is a 50 1.4 ... apparently. So I doubt the price rises will make much difference.![]()
Are the prices not going up for the full-time pros then?

Most pros already have their equipment.
As do a lot of amateurs and if they are doing some paid togging to pay for their hobby, I doubt the price increases will put them off anyway.

.....a cheap suit, a mars bar
tsk according to Practical Photography you don't even need that!
One DSLR kit lens, a cheap suit, a mars barand a set of stepladders, oh and an umbrella should see you sorted.
My only problem is being a Laydee, I'm a bit stuck for the cheap suit!
Professional photography has little to do with the cameras in use. If you think Bresson, Yervant, Bailey - whoever - you dont think. That guy shoots with a xyz, I am sure they could all take a mean photograph with a Holga, plate camera, MF film or compact.. and any said bit of kit uncle john was using at the wedding
I am not saying getting the right tools isnt important, its just the forward vision and artistry of who is shooting is more important than the kit
