Program to scan PC for photos?

Forgive me if this as been asked before.

Does anyone know of a program that will scan my PC for photos and gather them all into one location? Hopefully filter out duplicates as well.

I don't suppose I'm the first, and surely won't be the last, person to have made this mistake.
I was so keen to take photos that I didn't bother to label or catalogue them properly on the computer. You know the "I'll do that bit later - I just want to see what they are like for now" syndrome.

Well I'm paying for my impatience now. Loads of photos scattered all over the PC and don't know where to start sorting.

I'm pretty sure picasa does that...

I've done it manually.

Do a search for .jpg or CR2 files or whatever, then copy them to one folder and then sort them by name.

Then check the ones with the same name/filesize.

I was surprised who many duplicates I had!

I'm pretty sure picasa does that...

as the man said try Picasa its free aswell
