I went for a trip to Edinburgh zoo today and came away with a handful of ok shots (please bear in mind I'm stuck with manual focus for just now).

I'm just not convinced by the colour in either of them, it was overcast though.

Your focussing is fine. Its your exposure thats off. They are a tad dark and mayhap a little too over saturated.

i have to agree with og ..
ive had a play in ps and imo you can brighten the shot up and tone down the colours and it still looks fine. focus look good to me
