PS Elements 6 - Viewing external HDD pictures in Organizer ?

I've recently moved 50GB of pictures to an external HDD.

If I plug the HDD back drive into the computer, elements starts copying the pictures back to the computers internal disc drive.

Grrrrrr.

Is there away to just browse the pictures using elements?

If it's like PSE 5 , switch of autodownload in Edit/Prferences/Camera-Card reader.

That should stop the copying to Internal disc but you'll still have to build a catalogue to browse the files on the external HD

In file location view, right click on where the photos are then select "Add unmanaged files to catalogue"

Does that mean when you connect your camera, you have to manually download the pictures?

You just connect the camera / card reader then select "Get Photos" & click "OK" , not too much of a hassle
