I can't decide on whether the trees and bridge are too much in the way or not.

Takes me back though - I used to live just by there.

Exposed well.. nice sky. colourful building.

Overall feels a bit bland though, like its missing something.

Have you tried putting into black n white?

Building looks impressive, shot seems to be exposed nicely, however your photo doesn't really do much for me in terms of composition IMO, seems very busy.

The trees obscuring it don't help, nor does the angle from across the water. Perhaps getting up closer would have helped? or walking 50 yards to the right along the edge of the lock to take the trees and the bridge out of frame?

Will you be returning to this location.

If so, have you considered, rather than looking at the bridge, trees and pumphouse in one composition.

Maybe consider looking at the pumphouse and surround features on there own and create a set rather than cramming it all into one shot.

Just my thoughts really.
