Purple Sandpipers.

Apparently these guys are quite uncommon but this is the third time I have seen them down on the bay this winter. I nearly trod on them on Friday. If only the sun had decided to play ball as well.

Thanks, Richard. I took them just round the corner from my house on a small stretch of beach called Sandy Bay at the mouth of Larne harbour.
