Q straps, black rapid etc... with tripod plate

I realise there is another thread running on broadly the same subject but I didn't want to hijack it with my specific query.

I currently use the standard Nikon Strap. I also use Manfrotto (RC2 I think they're called) standard tripod plates, one on my 70-200 and one on a camera body.

I'd like to switch to a black rapid or Q Strap type system but there seems to be a myriad of options so I just wanted to check I'm thinking along the right lines.

My options seem to be:

1) Black Rapid strap and two T1 slim fasteners to bolts through my current manfrotto plates. About £100

2) Q strap single strap and two tripod mount fixings. About £30

3) Q strap single strap, one L bracket and one tripod mount. About £30.

I'm leaning towards option 2, mainly based on cost but I'm also concerned about option 3 as the tripod mounting plate would have to bolt to the L bracket which I think could introduce a little flex into the system when mounted on a tripod.

Any comments gratefully received.

It may be different with a tripod plate but I have a Q strap and a Black Rapid and find the Black Rapid to be a lot more comfortable.

I've got one in a draw somewhere. Didn't like it, a bit too stiff an nowhere near as comfy as the Op-tech sling strap I use currently. Must get round to sticking it on the classifieds.

Straps are a bit like bags for me. I'm not sure you ever find the perfect one.

Chris. I quite like the look of the op tech strap. Just one concern is the clip half way up the strap. Does this ever separate accidentally?

I've just checked and it takes a concerted effort on both sides of the clip to release it. I've certainly never have an Op-tech connector accidentally come undone or break and I've been using the system for years.
