Quandary...which lens?

Hi All,

I need a bit of advice.
My main interest is landscape photography and use full frame. At the moment I have 21mm Zeiss f2.8, Canon 24-70 f2.8 and Canon 70-200L lenses.
I am contemplating changing the 24-70L for either a Zeiss or Canon 35mm. Do you think this is a wise choice, and would 35mm be alright as a general walkabout lens?

Thanks,

Philip

Personally, I would stick with the 24-70. IMO, landscapes usually (not always but usually) benefit from reasonable DoF and the only real advantage of a faster prime would be the shallower DoF. I love wide angles - my 12-24 is one of my most used lenses - but I would now find a wide prime rather restrictive. Footzoom is fine but not always possible. Might be worth taping the zoom ring on your 24-70 so it's temporarily fixed at 35mm and see how much you wished you had the versatility of the zoom before making any decision.

Enjoy it!

Please can you post a couple of photos from your new 35mm f1.4. As I am sorely tempted to get this lens as a walkabout general lens, I love big apertures and this leans is really appealing to me.
