RAC rally, nightshots in crapstoke forest (56k warning)

sorry did i say crapstoke, i meant greystoke

took about 50 shots but it was throwing it down and miserable and ive never taken shots relying solely on the flash (absolutely zero ambient light) before, camera had a hard time keeping focus but for the majority of shots it was rock solid

im not very pleased with them, i think they are boring, but i couldnt get any movement into the pictures, even the ones taken at 1/40th of a second are statics which is a shame

what really annoyed me was the fact that we wanted to be on the inside of the corner, but the marshalls moved us over to the outside so that the media tabards could set up on the inside of the corner.

Got me in to look at the pictures

Doesn't look like the most fun conditions for photography. Not much you can do about creating movement blur if there is no light but the flash.

Nicely in focus so not all bad news

its not the most fun conditions for anything tbh, notleast because ill be spending tuesday-friday in greystoke testing, god i love my job!


i realise about the light, maybe i could have set the flash to strobe and got some movement, but then again i think id need to have taken my tripod to get a good steady shot through the corner

RAC rally is about the history and for me all the black and white images are the best.

Think I made the right decision in the end not to go, it looked a nasty night.

I like the B&W shots though Whitewash.

I miss the fact that night rallys are so rare here. Although I would need to get myself an external flash gun if there was night rallys here.
