Afternoon,
My upstairs desktop seems to be struggling these days, what with these super duper Photoshop programs and that!! As I can't afford a full base upgrade, I'm thinking I'll just ramp up the ram for the time being. I've currently got 2 x 512Mb sticks in the motherboard, but want to put 1Gb in each slot, to double the capacity.
What isn't clear, is whether or not the board will take it - the Crucial memory checker seems to suggest yes, but the board specs on UKTsupport's site suggest 512Mb is the limit.
Is there a test I could do, without wasting money, to work out what it'll take, or does anybody know what it will take without me taking the back off the machine. It's an Advent T9201 (uses the same board as the more popular T9400) and it takes PC3200 Ram.
Cheers all!!
