I have had a little play with the mp-e 65 and the raynox msn202 on it. All shot on the 350d and no cropping of the shots has taken place, the image is the edge of a cf card. Here are my findings:

Mp-e at 1x.

haha I've just noticed the colour change the raynox give the shot too :D

Stunning (y)

And for your next shot Alby, I really do expect
to see a gnats cock :D

what kind of distance ( lens - subject) did you have with the raynox fitted, i take it was ringflash lit. cracking shots. i would love to take something like this set up underwater to do some super macro coral polyp shots.

cheers for that, thats an awesome looking set up. I think the x5 shot is the one though. everything seems just so spot on. Now go and find a gnat.

Working distance is only a few cms so not good for live stuff or difficult tight places and angles. Uncropped image is 2mm across.

Yep you guessed right Rhod it is pouring down as I type

The last shot in the sequence is a staggering 11.1:1 that is 11.1 times lifesize

Alby, you are solely responsible for my plans to sell all my Samsung / Pentax kit, sell a kidney and go Canon...
Sorry Carl :D
What diffusers are you using on those flashes? Are they Canons or a TP?

*edit* i see tape of some sort! :) But what are they?

Andy they are the puffer diffusers and I cut up an old innertube
I think Graham aka Flash in the Pan sells them.

I removed the backs and use the innertube to clamp them on to the MT-24 heads.

[WOW x5] I don't see how to do the big text so imagine it 5x bigger :)

Who needs a microscope?!?!?

All are hand held Morgie, just resting the lens on the edge of the table, 95% of my macros are hand held and the rest using a monopod.

That is very impressive for hand-held. What kind of shutter speed are we talking about?

I normally shoot at 1/200 as the flash freezes the action and so has the effect of using a much faster shutter speed.

Now you're just showing off Alby... Stunning ... Is that the end of a hard drive ribbon cable ? At what point do you get into Microscope levels instead of Macro levels ?

No John it is the edge of a Compact Flash Card.
