Recommend a camera primarily for livestream

Hello,

Posting on behalf of a friend, He is looking for a camera that is to primarily be used in a studio for recording YouTube content and livestream train sessions. Sometimes it will be taken out of the studio for on location shoots, 1080p minimum requirement. External mic mount and the ability to connect it to a laptop to use as a monitor for the livestreams.

I use my EOS R with elgato camlink 4k, usb to my mac and into OBS so I can add overlays, intros, cuts to other media etc. The only other thing I bought was a plug in power supply for the camera, so not relying on battery for longer jobs.

I think most cameras with HDMI output can be purposed what he needs, I think it just needs to be clean HDMI.

Isn't an Eos R overkill for this?

I've nothing against the R, but maybe anything like it could be too much kit/£ for this?

I was saying what I use and works for me. I did add at the end that any camera with clean hdmi would do with the camlink.
