Recommended camera insurance

Hey all,

I'm after some recommendations for camera insurance.

I don't have a great deal of kit (about £1200 worth) but I'm prone to accidents.....

I still live at home with the parents, so can't really claim on house insurance as it'll mess up their no claims.

So, what would you recommend for someone with not much kit, and no professional use?

Regards

Andy

As above, don't even consider E & L. I'm with imaging insurance. Had one claim and they were excellent.

I choose photoguard for mine. Very good quote for £5.5k of kit with public liability insurance (£150ish IIRC).

Hope I never need to use it, but it really puts your mind at rest.

Do people generally get separate insurance or is it generally covered on home contents insurance?

I'm still a beginner and my collection is worth only about £1,000 at the moment. I will check my contents insurance but wondered what people generally do?

The only reason I want separate insurance is because I still live at home with the parents, and so I don't want to be claiming on their insurance if I need to.

And from what I can see, I'm looking at maybe £30-40 per year.

I went down the seperate route when the value of my kit started to rise and singl items were about £3k+
It now adds up to about £20kish and I'm not sure I would feel comfortable trying to cover that much on the household insurance.
As said earlier, I had to make a claim on a lens a while ago with imaging and the cheque arrived within 5 days. Great service.

I went with Aaduki, not claimed which is the big test, but good service when getting the policy.

I'm about to take the plunge as it's pay day tomorrow. :-)

Silly, question, but am I covered for things bought on Ebay if they were from a proper shop?
