I'm looking to buy a kit of magnetic filters for my Nikon Z lenses
I'm thinking of getting a CPL and various ND strengths.

I'm wanting one set that can be used on the following lenses.
14-30mm f/4 82mm filter size
24-70mm f/2.8 82mm filter size
24-120mm f/4 77mm filter size
100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 77mm filter size

What size would I have to get?
What would people recommend?

Sounds like you want 82mm kit plus a 77mm to 82mm adapter.

I don't use filters that much but I do prefer the magnetic setup.

I use a K&F 77mm kit with a CPL and ND1000 plus I have e two additional magnetic rings that adapt 62 to 77 and 67 to 77.

I'm happy enough with both the CPL and ND1000 in this kit - and using the adapters. But ....
  • Using the CPL on a magnetic holder feels a bit cruder when rotating it than a traditional CPL with its own threaded mount and separate rotation mechanism - but conversely I find it less likely to be accidentally rotate once set.
  • Using an oversized filter on a smaller diameter lens usually means that using a lens hood with the filters impractical.

I'd also recommend Kase, but they aren't cheap. You might need to consider a 95mm set to accommodate the 14-30mm and the necessary adapters for the other lenses. It's often cheaper to buy a kit than the individual filters and adapters

I‘ve had a set of 82mm K&F magnetic filters for a while now, and no problems at all with quality or cast.

Only reservation I have is on the Z 14-30 there is a very slight vignette if you’re shooting at 14mm. It literally disappears at 16mm on my copy.

I have the same with screw on filters on my Tamron 17-28mm when shooting full wide.
