Hi All

Am looking for some recommendations for a remote for my D300s. I don't particularly want a wireless one as I just want something small to keep in the bag for when I need it - landscapes etc, no studio stuff.

I've seen a plethora of wired ones on Fleabay, are they any good quality wise?

Thanks in advance ;)

Yea, I got a cheap cable release from Amaon for my D300 and I'm sure its the same for the 's' model. Works fine - focuses first then fires

Jus, I have both a wired and wireless remote for my D700 (same fitting as that for the D300(s)) and havn't used the wired one since I got the wireless one. Search Amazon for Hama Wireless Remote Control Release.ni-1 . It's not actually from Amazon but MyMemory got mine to me fast and hassle free.

On the wired release, Bulb is provided by locking the button on the release down (a simple slide) while on the cordless, it's done by holding the button down for 3 seconds or so (after which the button can be released) then pressing the button again to close the shutter.

Jus - mine is a Nikon MC-30 with a locking slide for bulb. Warehouse Express have it at £63 and Amazon UK at £54'ish. Cant trace where I bought mine, probably Amazon. merv:clap:

I went through several cheapo ones from ebay and finally bought the proper nikon one which is better by a country mile

Just purchased Chinese manufactured unit with locking for £6 inc postage from Ebay. It works fine and assume it will last a couple of years based on my ocassional use.
To me it made more sense to spend £300 on the tripod, not £60 on the Nikon release.

Thanks everyone - have decided to go with either the Hama or an Ebay one - £50+ for a remote release is divorce territory for me :'(

Flash in the Pan sells them on here, work very well........
