Lighting was not great and they were a long way away so heavily cropped.

Nice shots especially number 3, never seen one before....and quite a sighting for the UK.
 
I have chased these a couple of times over the years, and dipped. They never seem to hang about. At least you managed a few photos. (y)
 
I was very lucky to see it. At one point it flew right over our head much too close to get a shot of as I have the 600 and 1.4 converter on.

This is apparently a first year juvenile but an adult male was seen 4 days ago.

I will go back up in a couple of day to see if its still about and try to get some better shots.

It can't be a 1st year and a juvenile.
Actually it's neither - male RFF doesn't get the slate grey head until the 2nd year.
