No
I bought one about 4 weeks ago - I have used it for probably 3 hours a day since then.
I have used it 85% of the time with the Manfrotto 393 "lightweight" pseudo gimbal … which I also rate, (best value for money around)
It comes with a lightweight ball head which is also good for what it is

I'm very pleased with it's performance

CF and light, small when folded for travel and gets really low in use
One section can be used as a monopod
It also looks "attractive"

I have used it with the following combinations

D700/D7100 + Nikon 300mm f2.8 with and without the Nikon TC's
D7100 and Nikon V1 plus Nikon 300 f4
D700 with 50mm on their ball head

Clearly the heavier the kit and the higher it is the more it flexes but I have not really found it at all a problem with the 300mm f2.8

For my main uses, birds, insects and similar it has proved very good and it will certainly be the one that i "travel" with

It has replaced my Manfrotto 190PROB - a metal tripod - heavier and longer when folded - no complaints I just wanted something good that would fit in a travel bag.

I bought mine from Amazon - delivered within 3 days
