Redsnapper Tripod Head - Is This Normal?

Hi all,

I bought a tripod and head (RSH-24 3-way panning head) from Redsnapper earlier in the year . Great quality, and overall I'm very pleased with it.

One niggle, which I don't think should be happening, is that the QR plate is slightly loose when mounted in the head. It's not loose enough for it to actually come out of its mounting, but it will twist by a few mm in each direction, meaning the camera isn't held firmly when in use.

Unfortunately I have no way of knowing if it's the head or simply the QR plate that's causing the issue.

Difficult to describe, but I hope that explains it. :|

Has anyone else had an issue with this head at all? I just wanted to check before I email Redsnapper about it. :)

Not sure about the panning head you have but i had the same issue with my redsnapper ball head.

There is a bolt that holds the quick release base to the ball then of course the top part of the quick release is attached to the camera, when mounted together the bolt cant be seen. Mine slowly became looser as time went on until i finally went into the inside pocket of the bag and got the Allen Key out :bonk: Nice touch having the Allen Keys supplied, i have had to tighten my legs a few times too

Mine did the same. I thought I had somehow broken it at the time, but managed to tighten it all up again ok. No allen key with mine though...

Ah great, it sounds like a simple fix then. I knew the allen key was there in the bag, but didn't realise that part was adjustable! Shows how much attention I pay. :)
