Redsnapper- would I miss adjustable column?

Hi

I was all set to buy the giottos mtl8360b but been pretty busy and not had a chance.
Unfortunately, I've now looked at bit more seriously at redsnapper and am thinking do I actually need to spend 3x as much- I'm usally guilty of going a bit premium but should I? Is there much point in the instance?

The RSH-24 says it holds the same max weight (8kg) and they both weigh about the same- the redsnapper is 20g heavier.

Main difference (other than one is CF and one is Al) is the adjustable column on the giottos which can swing through 180 deg. How handy is this? I guess if I need to ask I probably don't need it but....

The only other difference is the leg locks- not a fan of twist locks but literature seems to suggest that the redsnapper ones are updated design and can't find anyone faulting it?

Any thoughts? Guess I'm a bit too busy to disengage my brain from work to decide for myself so apologies for another tripod thread!:bonk:

I have at least not swithered on the giottos ball head 1301-652:D

Also, it sounds like the strap on the redsnapper case detaches- if so can that then be used directly with the tripod as a carry strap or I have read too much into the blurb?:D
