I spotted this view and after a couple of attempts felt this to be OK.

Hand held, slight drizzle, pretty cold and moody. :)

It's a little on the noisy side but I guess since you've not used a tripod you've really bumped the ISO up which would explain the nice, I guess the moral of this is that it would be better to use a tripod for this, that's what I would have done personally, that would have given you the opportunity to use a long exposure to get rid of the people walking around :thinking:

Thanks for those comments.

I took a few shots and purposely kept the ones with the people wandering about - like ghost images.

I managed a couple of light trails (Passing traffic) but that lit the shot up too much. I liked the moody shot.

Like you said I wound the ISO up (400 IIRC) to get the grainy feel as well as the extra light.

I will try Tripod shot and wind the ISO down to 100 and see how that looks tho.

Specifically I was after a Xmas street scene but not Xmassy.
