Remove battery from camera...

Should you remove the battery from your camera when you are not using it or is it ok to leave in? I thought I heard someone say you shouldn't leave it in as it may shorten the battery life.

I've tended to leave batteries in the camera for long periods and have not experienced any problems.

I tend to remove AA batteries from flashes as I have seen those leak.

As above, I leave the camera one in only remove the ones from the flash and triggers.

The only time I take a battery out is when I'm charging it. I've been doing that for years with no problems.
Normal (non-rechargeable) batteries I always remove after use.
