Removing and replacing grip, only non-essential times?

I have two bags. One of them is a nice size for taking out in the evening, but cannot hold my camera with the grip on (7d).
My other bag is much bigger, and will take the camera, with the grip, + 100-400 lens, and is good for using during the day, but unweildy in the evenings.

So I am wondering whether removing and replacing the grip each day is a bad idea or not?

The lens mounts obviously are designed for frequent removal and re-insertion, but are things like the grip mounts, battery bay door etc. etc?
 
Mine never gets removed unless I really have too, and personally I hate doing it, it seems putting the door back on and taking it off would result in a breakage if I done it regular.
the door seems a bit flimsy to me to keep "snapping" it out and in the catch

I was in the same situation with my gripped 7D. Have a Fastpack 250 backpack which takes everything no problems but also a Crumpler MB5500 which I used when I just wanted to take the cam and one or two lenses but wouldn't accomodate the grip.

Ended up getting a Lowepro Stealth Reporter shoulder bag which takes the gripped camera and all lenses as I couldn't be bothered taking the grip off, nor did I particularly want to as the camera now feels weird without it :)
 
Not a problem with the D300(Battery door stays put) but the fuji S5Pro with the battery door to put back on has the grip on all the time.

Yeah, with the D700 I take the grip off for smaller lenses and put it back for the 70-200 or 300, the one on the S5 though stays put....
