Removing Quicktime movies from SD card

I have put in a used 8GB SDHC in my camera and i can't get the 9 quicktime movies off. I have copied the movies to my Mac's HD but am unable to do anything with them from the card. I know that if i pay $29 i can upgrade to Quicktime pro which i don't want to do and this will cure the prob but is there a free way!!

Can you not just move them from the card via a card reader :shrug:

That how i moved video files on an old Fuji.
 
I don't have a card reader that reads SDHC cards unfortunately.
 
format the card in camera?
