Evening all 
You can see a list of my lenses in my sig. In the near future I will be wanted to add a new lens to my tiny collection. I will either be replacing my kit lens for something sharper and faster, or my 55-200mm for something a bit longer.
With regards to the kit lens, I want to upgrade to either a Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 or Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 but I'm not sure which one. I want to have a set of lenses that will cover most focal lengths. So....
What it going to be used for? I want to try a few gigs possibly in the near future and portrait shots, so I guess they will be the main areas, as well general shooting/walkabout.
Then we have my 55-200mm VR. I've been trying the last couple of days to get some pictures of birds, but they have all been terrible. Even when I felt I've been relatively close to them, I need to massively crop the image and end up with a poor quality image. Any suggestions for that? Budget sucks, as it's only a hobby, I wouldn't want to spend more than £200-£250 (poor budget I know).
Depending on the suggestions will depend on which one I upgrade
