I took these a little while ago but I tend to use manual on about 1/16 power with the MT-24 ex. Hope that helps.

Ed I have no such lens, I have a Sigma 105 f2.8 macro and a Sigma 50 f2.8 macro. I will do a few with one of those next

Alby, You constantly amaze me with your macro shots, these are all stunning, superb, brilliant and all the other superlatives in the dictionary :D

Seriously though! Perfect

Hope you realise you are damaging my bank account as I really must get the MPE65 ... ;)
Steve

:clap: excellent Alby... did you put glue on the leaf or feed it something sweet and sticky to lull it into not moving ?

And when you do, you will then really realise how good Alby is, the mpe65 is no easy tool to use.

I am starting to think that Alby takes a tube of superglue out with him ;)

Thanks Guys ;)
Kev, yes I have done quite a bit of stacking using combinez, here is a 12 shot stack if I remember correctly.

It's a series of images taken at different focus points and then combined together in a special bit of software. It allows you to massively increase the depth of field in macro shots. In the photo above 12 shots were taken and the focus slightly changed each time.

Nice shots, and what is that in the stack ?

It is a Stick insect called Eurycantha Calcarata common name is the Giant Spiny stick-insect. They come from Papua New Guinea and grow to about 5-6 inches.

Thanks for looking. I do have shots taken with the 105 but will put some up later. Here is a shot and it is the lens and flash on the right of the shot but fitted to the camera in the middle. For more detail just google mp-e 65.

this might be a noob question but is it possible to use macro lenses as standard normal lens... i.e. the mp-e 65?

Not with the MP-e 65 as it can't focus more than a few centimetres from it's subject, it is truly just a specialist macro only lens. The 1:1 macro lenses are fine for other stuff though.
