Ricoh GX100: Opinions?

I'm looking to buy a compact camera, to carry with me most of the time. Just for those moments that I'd usually miss, either because I didn't want to carry a big camera, or getting it out would take too much time.

I'm fussy though. I need something that goes wider than 35mm, and that can take photos with a 3:2 aspect ratio (sorry, I can't stand 4:3). So it pretty much narrows it down to the Ricoh GR-Digital and GX100. I'd have the GX100 over the GR-D purely for the wider lens and the zoom capability.

What I'm really after are any opinions from those who own/have tried one. Should I be able to find one on the high street to test, in Jessops for example?

Thanks for any help.

I really like the look of them. 24-70! I hear the RAW writing speed is terrible. The Canon G9 is probably better in a few ways aside from the lens. I hear noise is an issue above 400, but then its a compact. Personally, for me I'd buy one, use JPG and shoot in B&W.
