River Swimmer

An afternoon walking the riverbank of the Great Ouse at Great Barford, Beds today,.
I saw what I first thought was a large bird splashing in the distance.
It soon became apparent that someone was swimming downstream in the river.
He barely lifted his head out the river to take a breath, swimming slowly and almost silently.
This was the only shot where I was able to get his face in 70yrds watching him.

There's a couple living on a narrowboat down there, they've seen quite a few of them.
Apparently it "does them good" although I wouldn't want a mouthfull of that river. Each to their own.
