John, you've got almost the exact setup as me - how do you find the DCR-250.

Cheers John... The Raynox is good with the 55-250 around 100mm, ok at 150mm ish, and starts to get painful with DOF from 200mm up to 250mm (as the magnification ratchets up and the light falls away). Most of my shots are handheld, like these and a flash is essential, a decent ringflash would be nice, but my home build converter works in dim lighting if I'm prepared to push the ISO as well..

Thanks Alby... I think it's Calcite. I was aiming to try and get the details inside the crystal structure, rather than the surface.
