Rode Stereo Videomic announced

it's a videomic with a built in zoom H1. Kinda neat.

Still nothing on real sound, but does seem to be a very neat solution for journalist types shooting on canon SLRs :) Nikon D4's actually got headphones out, of course ;)
 
Yup exactly. Given that the Videomic is about £100, I'm hoping this will slot in at about £150 ish. Not bad for a mike that provides at least some measure of direction.

I'd missed the fact that the D4 had sound out....

sennheiser should make the same, with a built in radio mic receiver too. Records 2 channels, one built in, one radio (eg) lapel mic. Would be a hell of an all in one, though it would be around £500...
