I have to confess that this shot was taken with a Canon Ixus 750 P&S

Yeah, I know, why not with the D300? Well, call me an old softy but I was on a desert safari, bouncing around in the middle of the desert, kicking up more sand than a very sandy thing. The wind was howling, dust was flying and do you really think I was gonna take the D300 there? I don't fink so! :biggrin:

I wouldn't risk getting sand in my Nikon either.

I didn't trust my very expensive Nikon to get the shot, so used my trusty cheapo canon.

Using a P&S has worked out really well there as you'd have got a much smaller depth of field with the DSLR. The 7mm lens has done the job a treat.

Cracking shot, whatever box shot it.
