I think I took 5 pictures in the first 20 mins as all the play was down at the South Africa attack end. This Tom Croft run was the best to show for the first half...

#2 South Africa were pretty awesome, especially in the lineouts.

#3 England were looking pretty knackered by half time

#4 South Africa seemed to jump on everything - reminded me of attacking lions on the savannah and all that

More pics if you want them.

Kit used - 1D IV with 400 2.8 with and without 1.4x extender, and 1D III with 70-200 2.8, plus various other bits like a 15mm fisheye, 24-105 and 17-40. ISO up at 2500-3200 towards the end of the game. Shooting in manual, metering off the grass and adjusting slightly so the white shirts were just blowing out.

Hi. I watched the match on TV. Nice shots, shame England weren't up to it. I can't help but think that Francois Steyn looks like a 1970s porn star.

Oh Carol, how would a girl like you know about such things?....:D

Nice pix Andy, has to be #2 for me, as for the green cast in #5 I just think its the people in the background wearing green clothing/kit.

LOL its the moustache and THAT hair. LOL.

I'm always very impressed with the noise level of the 1D's at high ISO!

Yes indeed, the 1D IV is very very good. The 1D III has more noise, especially colour noise. The 1D IV has a scattering of luminance noise, with the new noise reduction in Lightroom deals with really well.

On that topic, I find Lightroom just superb for post processing. Once I've done a couple of pics and got the right NR and sharpening settings for the lighting, I just apply the same to all the other pics and it's sorted just like that. Bloody brilliant - saves a load of time.

I have just acquired Lightroom. I'm a bit of a dinasour, really only ever used Photoshop and ACR. I'm just trying to get to grips with Lighroom. Do you capture your images as .jpg or raw?

Was the Matfield pint shot in the papers, I did see a similar shot somewhere... wondering if it was yours.

Nice work as usual Tobers. It's always to an exceptional standard always an inspiration for me. Just love #1. Cracking shot.

Thanks! I was the only one who got the Matfield pint shot - I didn't see it anywhere when I checked the papers so if you can wrack your brain about where you saw it I'd be v grateful.

The only papers/sites I have looked at are the BBC site and the Metro. Just checked Monday's Metro and it's not there. So would it be on the BBC site? I've been away for papers this weekend as I had a weekend off. Really truing to wrack my brains, but not coming up with much. Sorry.

Image 88 on your website is a cracker.

#6 I like. It's great to see the social aspect of professional rugby is still alive.
