I recently received an email that advised me that my subscription to Rescuepro was expiring and that if I did not renew my software would revert back to a "trial basis" - i.e. you cannot recover any files...........
This was the email:
"This is a friendly reminder that your current subscription of RescuePRO ® will expire on 12/14/2010. After that date, if you do not renew your subscription, your version of RescuePRO will automatically revert to trial mode. Keep your version of RescuePRO active by re-subscribing for another year. The annual subscription renewal fee is $20.00 – a savings of 50% off the retail price!"
I have several Sandisk CF cards with the RescuPro software CD included, but believe that I may have initially activated the software via a Free Software Download link.
Fortunately, I have only ever had to use the software once about 15 months ago, but it was my understanding that the Software CD was for life and not an annual subscription.
Or is that the software included on the CD is for life and the software download is only valid for one year after activation? If so, it may be worthwhile only activating when really needed........
Has this occurred to anyone else?
Update at 15.43:
I checked back and I installed the software in August 2009 and is was via a software download link, plus I do not recall seeing it at the time, but it now says it's only a 1 year subscription - this was the page
Will have to use the small CD to install the software again if I can find the box....................
