Just got a cosina 100-400mm lens. It doesn't AF beyond 300mm. As it is f6.7 at the long end should it actually manage to?? I'd assume it would and might just be slow in normal light, and probably not focus well in low light. It focusses manually but with AF it heads off to infinity and makes bad noises. Also in the exif info at the 400mm end it's reporting max aperture as f6.3.
My usual 300mm is f6.3 at the long end and that generally AFs quite happily.
Just thought I'd check that it is definitely duff before I send it back.... I'm 99% certain it is.
