Did you find out if its the old crossflow or has it had a transplant??? nice shots rob. crackin flip job too

But weren't they only made in the shoe box crot? (mk2)

shoe box crot? pah :p

But no, You could buy a Savage as a MkIII Cortina too. Jeff Uren also put the 3 litres into Capris, Transits with a few Escorts thrown in for good measure, but no, no MkI was comercially available. There was a MkI used as his prototype though, but by the time he was ready to go into production, Ford had moved onto the MkIIs....

would have had the precrossflow from the factory - the crossflow didn't put in its first appearance until a year or so after the MkIIs had arrived

nice, not seen a 70s style custome jobby in a long time. I do like the modern twist on it though with the pearly paint. I'll be looking out for this one at the Cortina nationals next week

So its true, old customisers dont die, they just take up photography ...

The owner wasnt around so couldn't ask for a look under the bonnet but i was
always under the impression the Savage's were MkII's and a few MkIII's. It was
very retro but seemed quite well done..

Is the Nationals the one at Stratford on Avon racecourse ?, bit far for me.
Dont make the mistake i did and forget to take your polarizing filter !! :bang:

Thanks for the comments

Yeah, on the race course. I'll be there with the MkII OC in my modded MkII estate. As well as the us and the MkI OC, also in attendence are the Corsair OC and the 105E Anglia OC, togethere with the Crayford OC too. Special guests in cluded Tony Mason. One way or another its shaping to be a great weekend :D
