sb-600 advice

Hi,
got an SB600 for xmas, not used it very much so far, but going on hols next week and should get the chance to take some photos.

A very basic question but one im not sure about - when you use the flash inside you can bounce off ceiling etc for diffused light - but what about outside, would you just angle the flash so it points straight at the subject or still angle it away abit?

Get a sto-fen diffuser if you dont already have one!
 
have got one of those - so with that on I can then point it straight at subject?
Would that apply indoors aswell?

Aye, though still bounce if you can. Try both for best results. Outside - you can't bounce if there's nothing for the light to bounce off. The sky is quite a high ceiling, and it's blue sometimes which doesn't help ;)
 
I bounce my SB600 indoors in TTL mode and use head on in TTL-BL when outdoors.
