Scarlet Tigers

I found these two on the grass this morning as I did my morning exercise walk around (and around, and around) the garden. They both looked the worse for wear, but both flew off when it warmed up a bit.

Thanks Les. I think this may be the first time I have seen these.

In recent years I have seen very few butterflies. There seem to be a few more here this year. Not lots, but a few at least for once, which is nice. These are the first ones I recall photographing this year, the rest have just been fluttering around briefly at they pass through.
