Good evening,

Im after an 8gb or higher sd card for my Nikon D90. I have started shooting in RAW so my 2gb sandisk ultra is getting full quick.

I quite like the sandisk but wondering if anyone can reccomend anywhere cheap to buy one or a suitable alternative? im looking to shoot 5 aside footy in the not too distant future so would like any card i get to be quite fast.

Budget is about £30

Regards,
Ian

Personally, I don't really like the idea of cheap cards, and the biggest I ever really go is 4gb. I'd rather pay a few quid more for the card, and reduce the risk of it suddenly deciding to lose my photos! Probably not much more than a marketing con, but it makes me feel better!

I agree with above, buy a couple of 4gig cards,, sandisk, kingston ect.

I have some transcend cards (look on amazon), they are class 6 and whilst they may not be as fast as the expensive ones they seem to do just fine on continuous shooting, they are cheap and haven't let me down yet...

Cheers guys, and cheers jason that seems to be a bit of a bargain!

I've just bought two Sandisk Extreme III 8GB SDHC cards from dell for just over £25 each...took a month to arrive but worth the wait

I did post a link on the sight...will try and find it and pop back

Sandisk Extreme III 4gb from Amazon (Look in the side panel, just not in stock right now) £14.99

Amazon have stated that nearly ALL the 2GB Sandisk SD cards advertised on their site are fake - actually 512kb that somehow report they are 2GB

i use Kingston 4GB SDHC Class6 from GoMemory at £8.25 del....."here"

emailed Kingston USA with card details/markings - confirmed as Genuine

unable to comment - but they must buy them in from somewhere ?

EDIT: Also, i was displaying 4gb ones--
realize that - just a general "heads-up" and a point to GoMemory.....

I now use Transcend exclusively, having used Sandisk for years. Have a pair of 16Gb SDHC Class 6 for use in my 1DsII and they have been great.
