SDHC and CF adapter

Has anyone out there tried an adapter to use SD/SDHC cards in a camera designed to use compact flash?

I bought a CF adapter for SDHC cards (on eBay!) and know that my Nikon camera recognises the SDHC card OK and records on it. I also asked a friend to try it in his Canon and it worked. But, I have yet to use it in anger as I have always had enough free cards and have been keeping the adapter as a back-up.

My reason for trying this is that I have cameras that use both SD and CF cards and I would like to standardise. I'll be interested to hear your views, experiences and suggestions.

i get fed up because i want to use sd cards as they are so cheap and i never thought of getting a card adapter. at least then when you upgrade your camera you have both types covered.

im off to look at ebay and try and get me an adapter

I'd be interested to know how you got on, Luke. I've just looked at adapters on the 'Bay and they've increased in price a bit since I got mine but they're still under a tenner - just.
