looking for the best cards for my new d7000 mainly being used for pictures but will be using for my sons wedding so what speed of card do i need as i have never had sdhc cards before as my d300 takes cf cards

Sandisk extreme pro sdhc cards are rated UHS speed 1 and upto 95MB/s. I use sandisk extreme / extreme pro CF cards with my Canon dslr and have never had any problems. I've also used a sandisk extreme pro and a panasonic UHS-1 (olympic 2012 branded) sdhc card without any issue in compacts, that includes some use for for 1080P video.

The UHS-1 spec for faster cards looks like it has superceded the older Class 10 spec.
 
I use either Sandisk or Lexar cards and have been very happy with them
 
Sandisk are great. Nikon magazine last month had a big write up on memory cards. Quite interesting too!
 
I use Sandisk Extreme, price was right and I've never had a Sandisk flash card fail so I figured it was worth a punt.
