This is not a bad shot for a second attempt. To improve further, try and focus on the eyes/head of the butterfly. To help with composition, wait for your subject to become more "isolated" in the viewfinder and use a wider aperture to get good bokeh and at the same time, a highter shutter speed to minimise/eliminate any camera shake.
It's all about the light if you havent got a flash, so you will be dependent on good natural sunlight on your subject.
Finally, to get your butterflies to keep still, you will stand a better chance if you get up early and get to them before they warm up in the sun.
And finally finally, this thread need to be in the Animals and Nature forum
